San Bernardino, CA
Over 12,000 gathered to celebrate the coming of 1998 in a New
Year's Eve extravaganza only Go Ventures & the Southern California
Alliance could bring to the Southland.
The talent for this event included the following:
Woody McBride (aka DJ ESP)
Communique Records, Minnesota- The Midwest's acid
techno ambassador. Originally from Bismark, North Dakota, Woody
McBride moved to Minneapolis in 1988, and his skills in promotion,
production, and DJing has lead McBride to be one of underground
techno's finest DJs.
Hoschi
Labworks, Germany - Part of the originating force
that started German techno in 1989, the Music Research Company.
His label Labworks has featured some of today's biggest recording
artists, such as Dave Clarke, Freddy Fresh, Woody McBride, Roland
Casper, and many others.
T-1000
Tresor, Pure Sonik, Detroit - Formerly of Underground
Resistance and with releases on Germany's Tresor as well as his
own Pure Sonik label, T-1000 is one of Detroit's premiere minimal
techno DJs/Producers.
Marvelous Cain
Suburban Base UK - Without a doubt, the USA's favorite
UK jungle DJ, Marvelouys has been stateside more than any of his
peers. He is the owner of Runninz and Macca Records, and is starting
two more labels in '98.
Bigga World
Frontline Records UK - As a part of DJ Hype's True
Playaz label, Frontline Records' main man, Bigga World, is one
of London's finest jump-up DJs.
Rude Bwoy Monty
True Playaz UK - Taking a break from the European
leg of the True Playaz tour to come show LA how its done.
DJ Lars
Smile Comm. New York / Germany - Lars rocked it
at TIME, and wants to take the spotlight again, This is New York
house from a German perspective. Far out.
Dread
Strictly Underground UK/Florida - Dread aka Pete
Banks is a truly unique DJ. His style defies any attempts at labeling
it, and his skill at the decks is apparent at first glance.
